DEC 2009 NEWSLETTER

Hi All,
A message from Jo…
Dear All,
We had a lovely dinner at The Grand and Kris Kringle was generous in her gifts! Thanks to all who have completed the survey. If you haven’t yet, could you please either do it online or in the envelope provided for those on snail mail.
Next year we will continue with our Wednesday evenings. The first meeting will be Feb 3rd at The Bays Hospital Mornington-7.00 pm.
I have to share that my Labrador has just been treated for breast cancer! She had a large lump that popped up when I was off with my knee problem. I hadn’t seen her for about 2 weeks. The kids were a bit harassed in case she needed chemo... they thought a hairless dog was not on. Gold standard treatment is a bilateral mastectomy remembering they have 8 mammary glands and a hysterectomy. 2 huge operations, so we opted for a lumpectomy & speying. She had a wound infection (of course an outside dog on 2 acres) but I am pleased to say has recovered well and is happily crashing around the place. (she is also blind from a genetic problem NOT old age).
February seems a long time away for a meeting especially to those who have recently been diagnosed.
Our January get together have not been too successful... too hot, too wet so I am opting for, Wednesday 13th 10.30 am for coffee at Jo’s.
No need to RSVP, just turn up, I will be home! Don’t have to bring anything or you can bring a plate to share, I am good at buying myself!
Stay well and have a fabulous festive season. Contact me if you need, preferably email jo.lovelock@bigpond.com .
